This series of Corfu travel photography is a continuation of the Tilt-Shift Summer project, documented during a holiday in 2011. The images were captured using a Canon tilt-shift lens, a technique that manipulates the plane of focus to make full-scale landscapes and subjects appear as miniature models.
The photographs feature Glyfada Beach and Paralia Mirtiotissa on the western coast of the island. Glyfada is a large, sandy beach characterized by its Blue Flag water status and surrounding pine-covered cliffs. Paralia Mirtiotissa is a smaller, secluded cove located beneath the 14th-century Monastery of Myrtidiotissa. It is noted for its natural state and lack of large-scale development.
Also documented is Elia Taverna and Rooms, a family-run establishment located between these two beaches. Operating since 1976, the site is situated within a forest and includes private olive groves and gardens. The series uses the tilt-shift effect to document these specific locations, the coastal architecture, and the crowds within the landscape.
